Welcome and thank you
for visiting the homepage of
the Busan Medical Center.
We hope you will experience the high-quality medical services of the Busan Medical Center with its highly experienced medical specialists and doctors as well as state-of-the-art medical systems.
The Center, established in 1876 (the 13th year of King Gojong) with the name “Governmental Medical Center” as the first Western-style hospital in Korea, marks 140 years since its establishment this year.
The Busan Medical Center was relocated to its current 100,000 m2 site in Yeonsan-dong in December 2001. The Center, which is currently one of the largest regional general hospitals in Busan, is composed of 21 treatment departments including the Specialized Geriatric Hospital, Health Promotion Center and Oriental Medicine Hospital. In the hospital complex, there are 690 beds (502 in the Busan Medical Center and 188 in the Specialized Geriatric Hospital) in the main building (nine stories above ground, one story underground) and the annex building (three stories above ground, one story underground).
We will do our best with the aims of:
First, improving the quality of medical treatment as a treatment-centered hospital,
second, enhancing our competitiveness through cooperation and collaboration, and
third, actively participating in and leading regional-based public health and medical projects in an effort to improve the public health of Busan residents as an essential foothold for public medical care.
