Every activity of national, local autonomous entities, and health and medical institutions conducted to secure people’s universal use of medicine and promote health protection regardless of region, social status, and field.

Public Health and Medical Business (Article 2 (2) of the Act)

  • Businesses regarding medical provision to regions and fields where the provision of health and medical treatment is not made smoothly.
  • Businesses regarding medical provision to those who are poorly guaranteed health and medical treatment.
  • Businesses regarding the prevention of diseases that require measures taken by the government and local autonomous entities considering their size, spread, severity, etc. and health promotion.
  • Other businesses stipulated as health and medical treatment by decree of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Vitalization of mid- to long-term public health and medical program to enhance the role as the main public medical service hospital, promotion of sustainable public health and medical service projects through the development and construction of infrastructure.
